NSFAS Bursaries 2024:

The Department of Higher Education and Training provides bursaries which are available for National Certificate Vocational courses and Report 191 (NATED or ‘N’) courses and programmes at public TVET Colleges to students who qualify for. Take note that these bursaries are not loans. The bursaries are administered by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). Other bursaries are also available, which will vary from college to college. Prospective students should are encouraged to make enquires at the college at which you plan to enrol to know what bursaries are available for the course that you have chosen to study. During 2015 approximately 307419 students at TVET Colleges benefited from DHET bursaries administered by NSFAS.

The NSFAS administers Department of Higher Education and Training, TVET College bursaries, which are widely available but subject to two critical entry requirements. The prospective student will be asked to take a’means test,’ which will reveal whether or not the student really requires financial aid, as well as whether or not the student has a strong academic record. Interested students can contact their nearest public TVET College if they believe they meet these requirements. The application forms will be provided by the college, and the application process will be overseen by the college.

How to Create myNSFAS Account: If you would like to create myNSFAS account for TVET College online application 2024 you will need a valid copy of your South African ID, or Unbridged Birth certificate, a cellphone number, and an email address. Follow the simple steps below:

  1. Goto www.nsfas.org.za
  2. Click the myNSFAS tab on the top of your screen
  3. Click register and fill in the information requested on screen.
  4. Upload a copy of your ID or birth certificate
  5. Click register.
  6. A One Time pin (OTP) will be sent to the cellphone number and email address you provide.
  7. Type in the OTP to complete registration.
  8. Done, you now have a myNSFAS account.
