- All prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the university website and thoroughly review all the essential information and guidelines for prospective students before submitting their applications.
- A fully completed application form must be submitted to TUT.
- Applicants who will be writing the national senior certificate in 2024 are eligible to apply.
- All applications must be submitted online.
- Late applications will be considered only if there are available spaces in your chosen qualifications.
Eligibility Criteria For TUT Btech Online Application
- National Senior Certificates or Equivalent:
Applicants must have a national senior certificate or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 50% in mathematics and physical science.
- Relevant Diploma:
Candidates should possess a relevant National Diploma or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- English Proficiency:
Proficiency in English is essential and applicants may be required to provide proof of English language proficiency through tests such as IELTS or TOEFL.
- Additional Requirements:
Some Btech programs may have specific additional requirements such as work experience or portfolio submission. Make sure to check the program-specific criteria before applying.
Applications to the Tshwane University of Technology for the 2025-2026 academic year open in March 2024 excluding international applications and specified programmes. Student applicants cannot apply before the TUT application is opened.
TUT Btech Online Application Closing Date 2025-2026
Applications to the Tshwane University of Technology for study admission for the 2025-2026 academic year will close on 30 September 2024 for most courses and 15 June and 31 July for selected programmes. Interested applicants cannot submit applications after the deadline.
The Tshwane University of Technology Application Fee for 2025-2026
A non-refundable application fee of R240 is required for the TUT online application 2024. It must be submitted with your application form. This fee covers the administrative costs of processing application forms and is non-refundable if your application is rejected.

Minimum general admission requirements for study at TUT
No person may be registered as a student in a programme of TUT unless he or she has complied with the following

- A minimum pass in English at the Senior Certificate level.
- Each course has its own set of specific admission criteria.
- Some programs may require students to take an admission test. The results of this test will determine admission to the program or recommend enrollment in the relevant foundation course

Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy?
All learners are required to take one of the two subjects for NSC-G purposes
TUT position:
- Mathematics is relevant to programmes that require prior knowledge of mathematics; all others may only require Mathematical Literacy. (Details of what each subject entails can be determined by looking at the DoE curriculum statements, available on the DoE website).
