The Department of Drama and Film champions the synergistic relationship between drama and film, recognizing their mutual enhancement. We integrate the creative, hands-on, and analytical aspects of drama, theatre, film, and TV production within a collaborative framework. Our mission is to cultivate the next wave of adept storytellers. Our Drama, Film, and TV Production programs have emerged as a prominent presence in the South African performing arts landscape. Our curriculum is designed not just to hone the skills of actors, directors, educators, administrators, or writers but also to nurture artists who are empathetic and well-rounded. We emphasize understanding, exploring, and interpreting the complexities of the human experience. TUT Drama Admission requirement(s):

A National Senior Certificate with a bachelor’s degree or a diploma endorsement, or an equivalent qualification, with an achievement level of at least 4 for English (home language or first additional language).

How many APS score is needed for drama at TUT?

To be considered for this qualification, applicants must have an Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 19. Assessment procedures: Applicants with an APS of 19 and more will be invited for an audition and a structured interview with a panel.

How long does it take to study drama at TUT?

Minimum duration: Three years.
