Admission Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements for Higher Certificates:
Possession of a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching at the institution, as certified by Umalusi (Council for General and Further Education and Training).
Depending on the specific program, additional requirements may be in place, such as attaining a specific level of achievement in relevant NSC subjects. For instance, a Higher Certificate in Architectural Design might require a certain level of attainment in Design and a related subject alongside the NSC.
TUT Minimum Entry Requirements for Diploma Programmes:
Minimum Requirements:
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with at least 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the university, certified by Umalusi. An achievement rating of 3 (40-49%) or better in four recognized 20-credit NSC subjects.
Additional Requirements:
Specific programs may require specific subject combinations and achievement levels. For example, a Diploma in Data Analytics might require a pass at a specific level in Mathematics or Information Technology.

The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) requires applicants for Bachelor’s degrees to possess a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum achievement rating of:
30% in the language of learning and teaching used by the institution, as certified by Umalusi. 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in four recognized 20-credit NSC subjects.

Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy?
All learners are required to take one of the two subjects for NSC-G purposes

General rule:

- To gain admission, a fully completed application form and recently certified copies of your original identity document and (National) Senior Certificate and/or highest academic results (certification may not be not older than one year) as well as the administration fee, must reach TUT before the specified closing dates for 2025-2026.
- All Applicants should take note that Late applications will be considered only if there is space available in the programs concerned. TUT can accommodate only a limited number of students per program.
