TUT Registration Dates for 2024-2025

Application for Residence Accommodation

First-year students should indicate on the official TUT admission application form whether or not they want to apply for residence accommodation. These students will be selected based on their unconditional acceptance for enrolment in a full-time academic qualification offered at TUT. If there are too many first-year students qualifying for a residence, further selection will be based on the date of unconditional acceptance by the faculty.

Returning senior students must apply for residence accommodation for the following year before the end of October, by using the online application process. Students can log in to their Student iEnabler accounts and select/click on Residence Application. They can also directly visit the link: https://tutprodi4app.tut.ac.za/pls/prodi41/w99pkg.mi_login.  Returning students who do not follow this procedure will not be assured of a residence space the following year. These students will be selected based on the criteria as stated in the placement policy. The main requirements are the following:

  • The student should have obtained a minimum academic average of 50% (55% in the case of senior residences) for the full academic year or must have passed all semester and year courses;
  • The student should not exceed the maximum number of years allowed to reside in any TUT residence. The maximum number of years is the minimum number of academic years required by TUT to complete a qualification successfully plus one additional year;
  • The student must be registered for a minimum of two subjects. (Subjects registered for non-degree purposes will not be taken into account.);
  • have settled all outstanding fees or made arrangements with TUT Student Finance;

  • Pay the required deposit: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure a residence place.
  • Provide proof of payment: Students must provide proof of payment for their tuition fees before being allocated to a residence.
All other students who want to apply for residence accommodation should apply online at the beginning of the year that they require the accommodation for, after their academic registration. I am a Tut student who needs assistance regarding two old women who stay with me in my section and they make it hard for me to live with them. They are not Tut students they are Robs ferrera students, I have had issues with them when I first came to this accommodation, first it was about utilising things such as toilet or kitchen they didn’t allow other students to use them,one of them told the caretaker that my friends are using the base at that time It was my first week if not second week being situated, we spoke about I told her I didn’t know anything since i was new and I came there not knowing what is going on I asked the caretaker which proceeded to tell me that we can utilise any kitchen or toilet she made lame excuses, secondly we had an issue regarding leaving their takeaways in the kitchen after eating because they don’t stay alone, they would leave it until it smells we spoke about that, my problem is that, these old people act like we are not human beings, everytime they are studying I give them space one of them uses the kitchen to study I mind myself go to another section while they don’t want other students to utilise this section, my main dispute is noise they make noise like they live alone I spoke with one of them yesterday and they still continued it’s like they do these things deliberately, now I end up making noise too because I can’t listen to their noise either I bought headphones because of them even last year we had a conversation about the same issue and they said I’m fighting them whilst I don’t bring any friends or anyone to make noise because I respect them.
    Can I be assisted by Tut, I’m at Mbombela campus
    I wish to ask for assistance at school but I know they will brush it off since our caretaker knows alot of people, I would appreciate your feedback and I hope I will be assisted
