TUT Pharmacy, Thinking of a career in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences? The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at TUT and the University of Limpopo jointly offer a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. Students enter the University of Limpopo and the Tshwane University of Technology on a full-time basis. They spend half of each academic year at each of the two campuses, where they have full access to all academic and recreational facilities. Our department is ranked amongst the best in the country and that is made possible by our formidable lecturers who possess extensive experience and knowledge in the Pharmaceutical Science discipline.
The B Pharm (
Bachelor of Pharmacy) program is at present the only one of its kind in South Africa. It is a problem-based learning (PBL) course. PBL is a learning strategy that is in line with the national policy of Outcomes Based Education, since it is aimed at producing professional pharmacists equipped to practice effectively, immediately upon completion of the degree. We also offer a B Tech: Pharmaceutical Sciences.
This is for potential students who have a three-year qualification in health or related sciences and would like to pursue a career in Pharmaceutical Sciences, including Clinical Research or Drug Registration. These would include medical representatives, CRAs, analysts, pharmaceutical technologists, nurses, dental technologists, and registration assistants. All of these exciting prospects exist in our department on a large and diverse university campus, where inventiveness and academic experiments await you. TUT pharmacy fees
