The National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) Online Application 2025-2026 academic year opens on 28 September 2025 and closes on 21 January 2026. All those who want to apply for NSFAS Online 2025 should visit www.nsfas.org.za. You can also download the NSFAS Application Form 2025 PDF.

What Documents are Required to Apply for NSFAS 2025

The following are the needed documents to apply for NSFAS Online 2025:

1. You must provide a copy of your ID or Birth Certificate
2. Copies of your guardian, parents, or spouse ID
3. A proof of your income or 1 year’s IRPS if needed.
4. SASSA grant recipients are not supposed to provide proof of income
5. Provide your cellphone number and a working email address
6. Disabled students must submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
7. Recognized students as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development should provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form

How to Apply for the National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) Online Application 2025

The National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) can be applied using the online application system on a smartphone or computer. Follow the simple steps below to apply:

1. Visit the NSFAS website at www.nsfas.org.za and apply for the 2025
2. Click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
3. Then, create myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to do it, click HERE
4. Click on the “APPLY” tab
5. Answer the questions you see on your screen
6. Then, upload all the required supporting documents
7. After that, click on the “SUBMIT” button to complete the online application process

Upon clicking on the ‘SUBMIT’ button, your application reference number will appear on the screen. The reference number will also be sent to the cellphone number and the email address you provided during the application process.
