TUT Bursaries 2024-2025:

Pursuing higher education is a significant investment and many students often face financial constraints that may hinder their academic aspirations. TUT understands the financial challenges faced by students and is committed to providing financial assistance through various bursary schemes. if you are planning to enrol at TUT for the 2025-2026 academic year, you may be eligible for one of the many bursaries offered by the university.

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) offers bursaries to assist students who face financial challenges in pursuing their studies. These bursaries are designed to provide financial support to academically deserving students who may not have the means to pay for their studies. TUT offers various types of bursaries, including merit bursaries, financial need bursaries, and specific programme bursaries. The bursaries cover tuition fees, accommodation fees, and other related expenses. The TUT bursary programme is an opportunity for students to achieve their academic goals without the burden of financial constraints.

TUT External Funding

NSFAS provides financial assistance in the form of a study bursary to qualifying students who wish to study or are already studying at TVET colleges and public universities.

Nsfas Allowance Application Date

The NSFAS 2025-2026 application will be available beginning on November 7, 2024, and will end on January 21, 2025.

Types Of TUT Bursaries For 2025-2026

  • Merit Bursaries:

These bursaries are awarded to students who have achieved excellent academic results in their previous studies. Applicants must meet the specified academic criteria to be eligible for this bursary.

  • Need-Based Bursaries:

These bursaries are awarded to students who demonstrate financial needs. Applicants are required to provide proof of their financial situation to qualify for this bursary.

  • Specific Field Bursaries:

TUT also offers bursaries for students pursuing studies in specific fields, such as engineering, health sciences and information technology. These bursaries aim to support students in fields that are considered critical to the development of South Africa.

  • Sports And Cultural Bursaries:

TUT encourage students with exceptional talents in sports and cultural activities to apply for these bursaries. Recipients are expected to represent the university in various competitions and events.

Who Qualifies for Nsfas Allowance 2024-2025?

  • All South African citizens
  • All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
  • Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
  • A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
  • Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

PLEASE NOTE YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF:

You have already applied for 2024 on www.nsfas.org.za and have an application reference number

You already have NSFAS funding for 2024

You already have an undergraduate degree/diploma or postgraduate degree other than the postgraduate qualifications listed below which you may apply for:

  • B Tech – Architecture/Architectural Technology
  • B Tech – Engineering (all disciplines), Cartography, Forestry
  • B Tech – Biokinetics, Biomedical Technology, Biotechnology
  • B Tech – Chiropractic, Homoeopathy, all Nursing
  • B Tech – Clinical or Dental Technology, Emergency Medical Care
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting
  • LLB

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will require more information from you to process your application, so you need to provide the following supporting documents to ensure your application is successful.

  1. Provide your own cellphone number and email address
  2. You must have a copy of your ID or birth certificate
  3. National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
  4. The evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
  5. The proof of income of your parents, guardian, or spouse.
  6. If you are a SASSA grant recipient, you don’t need to provide any evidence of income.
  7. All Applicants with a disability should provide and submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
  8. An applicant known as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

How to Apply for Nsfas Allowance 2025-2026

  1. Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
  2. Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
  3. Create a myNSFAS account.
  4. Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
  5. Update your personal information
  6. Answer the questions you see on the screen
  7. Upload all the required supporting documents
  8. Finally, you click on ‘submit
