Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Engineering is a faculty within the Tshwane University of Technology, located in Pretoria, South Africa. TUT Engineering offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various engineering disciplines, such as civil, electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineering, among others.

TUT Engineering presents a range of career-centric programmes with global acclaim. The faculty encompasses eight departments located at the Pretoria Campus and one additional one at the eMalahleni Campus. Their five centres of Excellence, institutes and Technology stations along with Incubators(CITSIs) play a crucial role in connecting academia, industry and local communities. Supported by the Technology Innovation Agency(TIA), the technology stations substantially impact innovation, especially in assisting communities in the Tshwane region.

TUT Engineering Admission Requirements

The admission requirements for Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) programs vary depending on the level of study and the specific program. However, here are some general requirements for undergraduate programs:

National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent qualification with at least 50% in Mathematics and Physical Science
English as a language of learning and teaching (LOLT) with at least a level 4 (50-59%)
For some programs, additional requirements may include a minimum APS score, calculated based on the results of six subjects, including Mathematics and Physical Science.

For postgraduate programs, the requirements may include:

A relevant undergraduate degree in engineering or a related field with a minimum average of 60%
Proof of proficiency in English, if English is not the applicant’s first language
A research proposal, if applying for a research-based program such as a master’s or doctoral degree.
